COURT TODAY

we have had no power and no internet for 3 days.....wow...reality check!!!!! my hair is lovely...lol. we had court today and i was very scared. it waas very different from our courts....you should see the lawyers...big men...ghanians with curly blonde george washington wigs...i had to pinch myself!!!! then you say MY LORD with each answer...again i got tickled, but we passed!!!!! full decree...a lot of families did not!!!!! we have learned a lot here and are very appreciaitive of what we have...our boys 9.5, 8, 4.5 have been put in a hole for 5 days, beaten, starved, lived on the street for 6 months by themselves, were almost stabbed by their father bc he could not feed them and did not want to try, etc.....so sad for children to endure. they are sooo sweet and SHARE everything. the older two really take care of phillip the baby...he is going to be our wild child.....non of the boys ever attended school and are so ashamed...godfred..the oldest...said we could give them back..in tears! it will be work..probably more than i thought...but i have seen what their alternative would be and it is not good!!!! they only want rice for every meal bc it is soo filling and they are used to limited food. our hotel is small and the older two are sleeping on the concrete..yes...no carpet...floor and have not complained at all. they love the shower and take about 8 a day...and begged for ...palmade?????? i was clueless...it is coco butter lotion....no ipod...just lotion...wild. well others are waiting to use internet so that is all for now. please pray for our safe return and for my wonderful children that are patiently waiting at home......oh yea...get ready Ian.....littlebit is wild!!!!!! oh yea....i guess i need to learn how to eat chicken bones bc they love them...the entire bone!!!!

  1. OH HOW EXCITING! PLEASE UPDATE US EACH TIME YOU HAVE POWER! PICTURES TOO PLEASE! So Godfred and Joseph are a little older than we thought? I can't wait to meet my little wild Phillip! They will catch up! Look at all the TEACHERS they will be around! God has purpose for them far beyond what we even know. Look what He has already gotten them through and then out of millions of people, you were guided to choose THEM to adopt! Chillbumps! They may behind in "school" but they seem very wise and have learned things that even WE have not learned. BRING EM ON HOME! CONGRATULATIONS ON THE ADOPTION TODAY!

  2. Kathleen, We are so excited for you! Congratulations. We are friends with the O'learys and have heard bits about you. Your post makes my heart hurt. We are in the process of adopting from Ghana as well. Praying about a child currently. I hope to meet your little ones and will cover you in prayer as you bond over the next few days. God sets the lonely in families. Yes, he does. Excited for you and appreciate your honest post!
